A Trip Almost Over..

Let’s Talk About May

On my previous post I did talk about all of the things i’ve visited so far and my Company. But in reality i’ve done more than that. What I loved the most is the National Art Gallery. You can find a lot of interesting paintings and religious paintings. Also famous painting like the  Water Lily Pond by Monet or Van Gogh’s Chair. But my favorite art has to be Lake Keitele by Akseli Gallen-Kallela. I actually went to the art gallery twice. On my second visit I took the audio guide so I could learn more about the paintings that caught my eye.

One of my favorite subjects that I am interested of listening to and talking about is Science. Of course I had to go to the science museum. And I certainly did not regret my trip there. I am ready to go back there again. When I first entered the museum, the first thing I did is run off to the Space area. The area was dark and you could see this giant ball that would have Moon, Mars and Earth projected on it ! There were a lot of explanations about astronauts that lived in space, spaceships and the galaxy. It was quite interesting to explore.

I also went to the National History Museum – I didn’t know much about it and I did not expect to see Dinosaures. Yes I saw a giant Dinosaure. It was also interesting, I was lucky to see the Moon Exhibition which was free ! In the Museum, I got to experience an actual earthquake that happened in Japan. I didn’t expect the room to move like an earthquake I was pretty shocked about it. But the most important parts were Dinosaures and fossils. It was like in movies. I mean you don’t see that everyday do you ?

I spontaneously decided to hop on a train to Glasgow. Why you may ask me ? Probably because I wanted to Celebrate an Early Birthday with friends ! I met up with my friends Mitchell, Connor and Liv. We all stayed at Connors house. When I arrived the weather was pretty bad so we stayed in, played games and watched movies. The Next Day with Connor, Liv and Mitch we met up with my schoolmates Dimitri and Yassine. It was pretty fun to speak english and french at the same time. I was so excited to visit the Science Centre which was not free. We’ve noticed that it wasn’t as interesting as we thought it would be. There were a lot of kids running around and the centre looked like a playground. Luckily Connor negotiated for a refund. So we decided to go to the transports museum which was much better and more fun than the Science Centre. After the Science Centre we said our goodbyes to Dimitri and Yassine. We left them to go have dinner in this sushi branch called Yo!Sushi. I enjoyed it ! I had an amazing weekend with them it was amazing !

On Wednesday May 29th, I had a lovely surprise from my co-workers which was a post card and some little gifts. They were adorable  !

Hello London !

Greetings Everybody, I am here to share my thoughts and feelings about my Internship since i’ve started. But first let me introduce myself. My name is Carla Bura, i’m almost 19 years old and i’m currently studying a degree in Management of small medium companies at ITEC Boisfleury Philippine Duchesne. I’ve never would’ve thought that one day I would do an internship in London. Everything happened so fast, I didn’t realize it until I came here. Fortunately, I have a Wonderful Host and a roommate who i happened to be friends with now. I first visited London the 29th of April 2019. At first I didn’t know where to go since i don’t know so much about London. Since i don’t live far from London Bridge, i hopped on a train and decided to go to the Tower bridge. After that I randomly decided to hop on tube and go to Green Park which is where Buckingham Palace is located. Here’s a Beautiful Picture of the Palace:

Just to resume my visits, I’ve walked a lot and I’ve discovered a lot of places in London. I’m currently staying in Deptford. Instead of taking the Train or the Tube, I prefer taking the bus. There’s the 453 from Depford Bridge that takes me to famous places like Westminister, Trafalgar Square, Oxford Circus, Picadilly Circus, Regent’s Park station and Baker Street Station.

Here’s more photos i took:

My Internship:

The Local Data Company is the reason of my Internship in London. After a few exchanges of emails and Skype calls they’ve accepted to take me to this wonderful adventure. The Local Data Company is a small medium company located in Clerkenwell precisely at Vine hill. When I first entered the company I was greeted by my supervisor who I’ve had exchanged with in the past. I was introduced to everyone and most importantly to my team. I’m in the Operations team. They help me a lot on the tasks they give me and they also give me a lot of feedback. I’m currently working on several interesting projects. At lunch time we all sit around a table and we discuss about life. I was invited to the company Quiz game. We ate pizza and then we were in teams to compete against each other on several subjects. This game really helped me fit in and know a lot more about my coworkers. I really enjoyed it !
